Himalayan Herbs Restaurant in Beach Road, Rhyll, is a must visit if you like Indian food.
Plus, it is in a great spot, looking over to Westernport Bay.
Himalayan Herbs is very popular so make a reservation. I thought could just rock up but this is not the case except maybe in winter if you are lucky. Leave a message when phoning for a reservation and there is no answer. Definitely book in summer, long weekends and public holidays.
This family run restaurant has a small staff so you may have to wait a bit when it’s busy.
The food is from north western India (mainly the Punjab region) with all the old favourites.
I especially love Indian food, not least because it is mainly gluten free. Coeliacs just need to avoid the samosas, naan and such.
There are also options for vegetarians and vegans.
We had the classics - Tandoori chicken, which came to the table breathing steam like a dragon!
Plus an old favourite – butter chicken, and vegetable korma and rice.
All delicious and come in generous servings.
The décor is a bit kitsch but ignore that – it’s all about the food!
Licensed, Himalayan Herbs Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner from Thursday to Sunday but may change with the holiday season.
Take away available.
