There are so many Phillip Island events during the year, especially over the summer months.

From small local markets to the hype of the International Motorcycle Grand Prix, there is something for everyone.

During the year Phillip Island is also home to many festivals, celebrating whales and shearwaters, food and wine, literature and jazz, fishing and fun and more.

Wild Sand Sculpting

December 26, 2019 onwards
Penguin Parade, Phillip Island

On the beach at the Penguin Parade go on safari and see elephants, monkeys, whales and more, brought to life through incredible sand sculptures.

Explore this diverse exhibition of mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians, fish and invertebrates spanning across the earth’s 7 continents.

Entry fee includes children's activity book, sand sculpting workshop and more.

Daily between 10.00am and 6.00pm (last entry at 4.00pm from December 26 to January 5).

Music at Purple Hen

Sit back on the lawns at Purple Hen every Friday in January and enjoy live music, sipping a Purple Hen wine and nibbling a tasting platter.

27th International Island Classic

Featuring motorcycles from pre-war to today, the 27th International Island Classic will be held over the Australia Day long weekend.

This popular event is the southern hemisphere's largest historic motorcycle meet.

Churchill Island Farmers Market

The picturesque setting for this farmers market is enticing with lots of stalls with a huge variety of goodies.
Look for local fresh produce including seasonal fruit and vegetables, the potato man with lots of potato varieties, and artisan breads.
Sample and buy olive oils, wine and beer.
Add local honey to your pantry.
For the green fingered there are plants and cut flowers.
Enjoy a relaxing coffee from the market kiosk.

Market on Chapel

Lots of variety can be found at this market, with local and imported goods for sale.
Second-hand books, soap, new and vintage clothes, collectables and plant stalls to name a few.
Inside the hall are arts and crafts, including jewellery, knits and clothes.
Fresh produce such as fruit and vegetables and free range eggs are available.
The "shed" at the back has a great array of children's books and toys and second-hand kitchenware with lots of retro items.
For the hungry there is hot food for sale.

San Remo Channel Challenge

The San Remo Channel Challenge involves swimming across the channel to Newhaven on Phillip Island then running back over the bridge to San Remo. The swim, at slack tide, is about 550 metres and the run back, 2 kilometres.

There are various entrant categories to satisfy all swimmers with prizes awarded for each category.

This popular event is a major fundraiser for the Woolamai Beach Surf Life Saving Club.

Race start time is 10.45am.

Sunday Jazz

Sit back and relax in the Bass Room at Ramada Resort for Sunday Jazz. In December, enjoy the toe-tapping sounds of Jazz Running Wild.

Cowes Classic and Little Penguin Dash

The Esplanade, Cowes

Specialized for 7 to 14 year olds, the Little Penguin Dash is a junior beach aquathlon held at 11.00am.

It is followed by the Cowes Classic at 3.00pm.

The Cowes Classic consists of a 500 metre tide-assisted swim followed by a 4 kilometre run through Cowes.

Compete for prizes or just for fun!

Phillip Island National Surfing Reserve 7th Annual Surfing Teams Challenge

February 22, 2020

Teams battle for prizes in various surfing disciplines, gender and age groups.
