Beach Safety AppSummer will soon be in full swing, and staying safe by the water is more important than ever. Before heading to any of Phillip Island’s stunning beaches, download the Surf Life Saving Australia’s BeachSafe App.The App provides real-time surf conditions, patrol times, hazard ratings, and surf safety tips for each location. Discover tips on the right equipment for various sea activities such as rock fishing, boating and diving. Plus, find information on marine creatures to avoid including blue-ringed octopus and cone shell. Wherever you’re swimming at Phillip Island, the app helps you plan ahead and stay aware of changing conditions. The BeachSafe App is free and accessible on both iOS and Android platforms. Woolamai Beach Surf Life Saving Club will patrol Woolamai Beach and Smiths Beach from November 17, 2025 until February 15, 2026. Cowes Beach will be patrolled between December 22, 2025 and February 6, 2026. The Nobbies UpdateAfter being closed for several months, The Nobbies boardwalks and car park are now open.The Nobbies Visitor Centre remains closed. However, access to a café, shops and toilet facilities is available at the Penguin Parade Visitor Centre, which opens at midday every day. There are also toilet facilities available at the Penguin Parade car park. Churchill Island Highland Cattle ExperienceFor something truly unique, don’t miss the Highland Cattle Experience at Churchill Island Heritage Farm.Get up close with these gentle, shaggy icons on a tractor-drawn wagon ride. Learn about their history and how they came to be part of Churchill Island, and about their temperament and care. The experience typically includes feeding time and plenty of chances for memorable photos. It’s a perfect activity for families or anyone wanting a slower, rustic escape from the holiday bustle. Tours are available at weekends during school terms and from Thursday to Sunday during Victorian school holidays. Go to www.penguins.org.au to book tickets.
Highland Cattle at Churchill Island Heritage FarmPhillip Island FireworksRing in 2026 with a spectacular night sky!Cowes New Year’s Eve fireworks will light up the Cowes foreshore at a family-friendly time of 9.30pm, creating the perfect backdrop for families, friends, and visitors to celebrate together. Arrive early to secure a good viewing spot to soak up the festive atmosphere. For another opportunity to enjoy the festive spirit, get along to Carols by the Bay on December 11 at Cowes Esplanade Foreshore. The evening starts with children's entertainment at 5.00pm, followed by carols at 7.15pm, then fireworks at 9.30pm.
